A three-year-old girl has been labelled “the smartest kid in the whole world” after making a very specific request for her Lion King birthday cake – with a devious motive.
Twitter user Casey Feigh posted pictures to say his niece, Leona, had turned three and asked for a birthday cake in the theme of the classic Disney film.
But rather than requesting Simba being held proudly over Pride Rock, or cuddling up with Nala, Leona wanted the cake to show – in detail – the moment Scar plunges Mufasa to his death in front of his son.
Explaining the thought process behind her decision, Casey wrote: “My niece turned 3 today!! She asked for a Lion King cake but specifically the moment where Mufasa dies, because ‘everyone will be too sad to eat the cake and it will be all for me’.
The bakers did a heartbreakingly good job of recreating the scene, showing Mufasa lying on the floor below the cliff as Simba looks over the edge at his dead father.
There’s even claw marks in the rock where Mufasa had battled to save his own live, not far from a happy message written in red icing which reads: ‘Leona is 3!’
The hilarious tweet racked up more than 750,000 likes, as one zoomed in on the attention to detail to say: “F***ing BRUTAL. My compliments to the baker.”
A second said: “This child is going places in life. That’s some great critical thinking at the age of 3.”
A third wrote: “Y’all see a criminal, I see intelligence. It is what it is.”
It turned out Leona wasn’t the only three-year-old to make a dark birthday cake request, as another replied to say: “When my son turned 3 he requested a cake themed for ‘the diver man that takes Nemo’. 3 year olds are the best!”
And others were inspired, as someone else wrote: “I missed out on a cake and birthday party for my big 40th last year. I’m getting a redo this year so I’m going to request a cake of when Bambi’s mother gets killed.”
